Questions We Hear Often

A home reformer works well across a range of experience levels, from those new to the method through to regular practitioners. Beginners often find it helpful to follow along with guided video classes as they build familiarity with the spring settings and movements. The adjustable spring resistance on each machine means you can start gently and progress at your own pace.

Most full-length reformers run between seven and eight feet long, so it is worth measuring your intended space before purchasing. You will also want a comfortable amount of clearance on either side and at each end so you can move around the machine freely. A dedicated corner of a home studio, bedroom, or spare room tends to work well for most set-ups.

A tower attachment adds a vertical frame at the foot or headrest end of the machine, expanding the range of exercises available and more closely replicating a full studio set-up. It is a practical addition if you want variety in your practice or intend to follow structured programmes that incorporate tower work. If your focus is primarily on the classic reformer repertoire, a tower is a considered upgrade rather than a necessity.

About Our Pilates Reformers

A Pilates reformer is a resistance-based movement machine built around a sliding carriage, an adjustable spring system, and a set of straps that work together to support controlled, precise exercise. The method it enables draws from classical Pilates principles, placing emphasis on alignment, breath, and intentional movement rather than volume or speed. It is well suited to those who want a structured, low-impact practice at home — whether that means a morning ritual before the day begins, a midday reset, or a quiet wind-down in the evening. When choosing a reformer, it is worth considering the frame material and its stability underfoot, the range of spring resistance available, the length and weight capacity of the carriage, and whether additional attachments such as a tower or jump board align with the practice you want to build. Solid wood construction tends to sit more naturally in a residential interior, while the presence of accessory packages can simplify the process of getting started. A well-chosen reformer becomes a fixture in the home rather than a piece of equipment you work around.
